Digital DIY

I'm always writing software, even when I'm not at work! My favorite things are designed to be useful and re-usable, so you can get the most out of your time on the World Wide Web.

Goblin Radio is an exploration in making your own internet radio station from the simplest tools possible. Only requires a couple javascript packages to get the server running, and you can provide whatever audio files you like!

Google Sheets to Blog converter used to be a larger app called Sheet-Posting that had a hundred or so users, but I took it down due to hosting changes. The code's still there and useful though, if you're keen to get into blogging but don't want to learn a new UX to do it.

Multiplayer features for Google Slides is one of my most popular creations to date! No more saying "next slide, please" during presentations, just load up your Google Slides into the app and give anyone the controls.

Entertainment

I love making games, to the point where if I'm not sure what videogame I want to play in the moment, I'll start programming one instead. Recently I've been getting into PICO-8, and here are some of the games I've made!

I've got a few other little bits and bobs hidden around here, such as a real-time simulator of the 2022 queue to see Queen Elizabeth II lying in state (RIP), a version of pong that runs in the browser favicon, and the smallest possible AI companion. Or, if creative writing's more your jam, try out the unofficial GARTH MARENGHINATOR!

      Information

I am currently (2023- ) a full-stack software engineer at The LEGO Group, focused on the intersection of membership and ecommerce, but with my fingers in everything from infrastructure scaling during the busy season to improving developer experience across the org. I work in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, NextJS, GraphQL, Python, Databricks, CDK, and the various AWS services.

Before that, I was (2019-2023) at Zapier helping developers integrate with a rapidly-growing automation platform.

And even before that (2017-2018) I was at Squarespace, as the last line of defense for the legacy Squarespace 5 platform (RIP).
